I am stoked. I am really excited about this build. Cory wants his 1948 Airstream done right. We will be going in with a full out re-build. A new frame is first. The next few weeks will be spent gutting and imagining the new trailer. I have to first make sure I understand just what they want. This will be one of his babies. I need to make sure he will be proud.05/05/08
We began removing the cap this last week. A new frame is a must. This trailer had the pole frame, which was just not capable of today's needs. We plan to begin fabrication of a new frame in shop next week. I will start the plans for the new tanks and layout. This is a challenge since we will be putting things in it that were never there to begin with.5/23/08
We built a new frame for this, got some vintage rims and whitewalls on it, put the top back on and insulated it. We have completely rewired his liner to have all of the modern amenities. We got the interior walls back in place then stripped it down to bare aluminum. Camille White Zolatone was the choice for the paint, with a polished endcap over the diner booth. We will be moving forward with walnut interior panels, an oversized rear bed and plenty of upgrades that weren't available in 48'. 10/31/08

Stripped Interior to hold new paint.

Polished Endcap will look great over the new dinette.
