1956 26' Overlander

Mr. Shaner's trailer was picked up in Jackson Center, after having a fresh floor put in it. He contacted me to bring in a new interior.Starting from scratch allowed freedom of design. I like these the most.

With a large family, his biggest request was sleepeng room. We decided on twins with bunks and an oversized goucho. This entire trailer will be built from floor up, as all tanks wiring and plumbing were removed.

First, we removed all interior skins, cleaned, re-insulated, stripped an endcap to be polished, then re-wired for every possible scenario. We were going to paint the old interior with Zolatone, but as it used to be a mobile kitchen, there were too many new holes and patches. Mr. Shaner agreed to bring in new aluminum throughout. I am pleased. 04/04/08

We are getting the new walls inside and things are starting to look up. Based off of photos I was given, we are going with cork flooring. I like the look and a floating floor works well in these trailers. I have designed the new floorplan around Mr. Shaner's needs and I am really pleased with what it will become. We have also started the polishing on the outside. As with all polishing jobs the outcome is directly connected to how the trailer was treated early in its life. This trailer was deeply pitted due to what I feel may have been many many years in the sun. Even still, it will shine up nicely.05/05/08
